Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and was raised by a mixed-ethnic, multiracial family. Jacqueline's father Elroy is from Sri Lanka (Catholic Sinhalese) and her mother, Kim is Malaysian. Jacqueline is the oldest of two siblings and a younger sibling. The reason for this was the conflict in Sri Lanka that her parents decided to move to Bahrain. After graduating from school in Bahrain she was awarded a Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. Her passion for languages and cultures inspired her to enroll in the Berlitz Language School, a school in which she improved her French as well as Arabic as she learned Spanish. In 2006 she was named Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006, and was also a contestant for Miss Universe 2006. In 2006 she won her the Miss Sri Lanka title. After that, she went into television to host a program on Sri Lankan business known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone (the mother of former badminton players Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. While still a teenager, Padukone competed in a variety of National badminton competitions. But she gave up the sport when she decided to be a professional fashion model. Padukone is from Mangalore, and her mother language is Konkani. Padukone Village is situated within Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi District of Karnataka located in India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the 1980s. Her mother, who worked for a travel agent, is also from this area.
